business is not my main activity nor my main interest, however, i have much experience with that and my results are good.
plus,
it saddens me to see my friends making such obvious errors, for so long...
so,
here it is - hope it helps:

0. treat all business advice, including this one, with scepticism, search for your way.

1. business is not a job - expecting an income - 20k, 30k, 50k is plain silly - it will not happen until you have built the business (see point 8).

2. you need to put in the time - there is no "normal" or "reasonable" time - it can only be "whatever it takes", and, it will not happen by itself.

3. you can not set up / run more than one business at the time - (unless you have much experience and successful businesses already running).

4. consider options - there are different ways of doing business.

5. business is numbers. it must add up or it is not business.

6. business is competition - at all times you are confronting other businesses - Good ones and Bad ones.

7. do it alone. "support groups" are made of people who secretly do not want you to succeed, or - no more than themselves. if you take a partner the efficiency has to more than double.

8. accept failure. most business plans fail within two years, no amount of effort will "make" it work if the concept is wrong.
